Natural Hero Products Review

Hot Ginger Muscle Soak RRP £9.99*, Ginger Muscle Rub RRP £9.99*, Peppermint muscle spritz RRP £11.99*

With all these workouts I’m doing, my muscle are sometimes very sore and I don’t like that to be a reason for me to skip one the next day. Natural hero products have been amazing at helping my muscles feel much better and allowing me to get more exercise in.

The hot ginger products are gorgeous and so warming for the muscles, they smell amazing and work really well when I feel achey or tense. They warm on the skin really giving a comforting feeling. I thought they’d be my clear favourite but in the past couple of days, the peppermint muscle spritz has overtaken them by a mile. On Sunday & Monday I did some hard core arm and chest work and I couldn’t even get my t-shirt off when I went to bed they were that painful. I grabbed the muscle spritz and asked Warren to spray my muscles. To be honest, I didn’t really expect much but thought I’d give it a whirl.

When I woke up I had a lot less pain and I know this wouldn’t have been the case had I not used it, it normally gets worse over night. It also smelt good and felt so refreshing on my sore muscles! These products are brilliant and I’m so impressed that they actually do work. They are pretty much all natural too and not tested on animals which is obviously a plus for me and because of that they are safe for using during pregnancy.

Elete Electrolyte Concentrate!

You know those days where you have a workout planned but you just have no energy? This Elete concentrate has been helping me get through that & even Warren has noticed it working as well. So what is it? It’s basically an electrolyte concentrate so you can add it to water & make your own natural energy drinks instead of grabbing a lucozade.
As well as helping with energy & endurance, it also helps with hydration, mental focus & prevent muscle cramps. It has zero calories, and is natural so there is no sweetener, preservatives or flavourings. You can add it to plain water or add it to any drink or food. If you drink coconut water, it is a similar type of thing to that except I really hate the flavour of coconut so this is a winner for me!
With the original flavour, I really couldn’t taste any difference to my water although Warren could detect some saltiness but said it was very slight. We were also sent the CitriLyte which is a more citrus flavour, Warren says it does have a slightly stronger taste but I have an allergy to citrus flavours so I haven’t tasted it just in case I die! haha..!
Warren has been using his for football training and matches, he has found that during and afterwards, his muscles feel less fatigued, he has more energy and feels more hydrated. He also thinks it helps him drink more water as he adds this too it rather than having a lucozade. I also found it gave me more endurance and I didn’t feel exhausted afterwards.
We’ve been really enjoying using these and Warren will not go to footie without them now because he sees so much of a difference! I’m glad we tried these & I think the price is great, Warren says he will definitely be continuing with these and would recommend them. I don’t feel I need them as much because I only tend to do 20-30 mins but when I have time to do a big session, I make sure I use Elete in my water to make sure I have the energy and endurance to make it a good one. In September  I am going to try & do more workouts than ever so I will definitely be using it to help me!
If you’re not into working out, these are also a great hangover cure to get your hydration up 😉
Question: Do you use energy drinks?

We Are Tea!

We all know I love a good cup of (green) tea and I have been exploring We are tea’sfabulous range. They very kindly sent me this amazing package, isn’t the packaging beautiful! We Are Tea is an award winning tea business from London and is stocked in some of the most prestigious places including Harrods and Dean & Deluca.

I was sent 3 teas from their Super range; Daintea, Felicitea & Activitea. The names are clever and fun which I love, Daintea is the slimming tea, Felicitea the happiness and Activitea energising. Their properties are pretty self explanatory, Daintea aids slimming, Felicitea aids happiness and Activitea aids  more energy. I don’t know about you but I could definitely do with more energy at least! I was also sent  2 samples of the ceylon with vanilla and the chamomile tea.

I’m a lover of anything vanilla so this is the first one I tried and I loved it! It was very refreshing and not too over powering. In fact, I found none of the teas overly strong like I do with some, but they had a lovely strength of flavour. They all taste great and make a nice change from my usual green tea. The tea bags themselves are even beautiful, I love the biodegradable bags and how you can see all the pretty, natural ingredients. Not to mention the cup & saucer, adorable!

You can try out We Are Tea’s range from their website. Also find them on Twitter &Facebook.

GIVEAWAY! & Vegan protein brownies recipe :)

Image

When I was researching recipes to use my Good hemp strawberry in, I noticed that many people had said raw hemp was excellent for baking chocolatey treats. I stored this in my mind for one day in the (near) future. After all, I am a chocoholic and always looking at ways to make my chocolate goodies a bit healthier & increase the protein. Very kindly, The Raw Chocolate Company sent me some of their Raw hemp protein powder to include in a recipe. They also sent me a snack pack of their Organic raw chocolate mulberries to try out.

The mulberries are 74% cocoa and I looove dark chocolate, the darker the better. Mulberries are something I had never tried but they have many health benefits such as being a great source of Vitamin C, Iron and Antioxidants. These tasted sweet and tangy with a good layer of yummy chocolate, they make a great snack if you fancy something sweet!

With the hemp, I decided to bake chocolate brownies. I found a simple recipe but I made a few adjustments to suit my tastes and to what I had on hand. I was eager to find out what they tasted like with the hemp in. My first impressions of the hemp was that it had barely any smell, unlike others I have tried. I was excited as I thought this could really work! I quickly threw everything in the blended and had a taste of the batter… fudgey, gooey, chocolatey, hazelnut brownie batter. To. Die. For. In hindsight, they would have made brilliant truffles just like that!

The meagre 15 minutes I had to wait while they were baking felt like a lifetime but I made it through & the wait was worth it. The warm, fudgey goodness of a brownie was just what I needed on a rainy, Saturday night in. I am so impressed and surprised with how these taste, I couldn’t taste any hint of hemp in there, they feel completely indulgent but they are good for you! Ok, ok.. I’ll get on with it.. here’s the recipe!

Vegan protein brownies!

Makes 2-3 brownies.

-1/2 banana,

-1 tbsp cocoa,

-1 tbsp The Raw Chocolate Company hemp protein,

-4 drops of vanilla essence,

-1.5 tbsp chopped hazelnuts,

-stevia/sweetener/sugar to taste.

Blitz everything in a food processor/blender.

Bake at 200 degrees for 10-15 minutes in a suitable tin.

Wait to a cool a little and enjoy.

They taste amazing. You can make any adjustments you want too, maybe play around with other flavoured essences, different nuts etc. And so that you can try this recipe too, The Raw Chocolate Company and I have teamed up to give you the chance to win a 250g pouch of the Raw hemp protein powder.

Question: Does raw chocolate appeal to you?

If you’re a runner you will know how annoying it can be when your earphones won’t stay in. It’s annoying and puts you off and you end up distracted. I ended up not even taking mine recently as they just annoy me too much. (How many times can I say annoy?!)
That was until I got my Yurbuds inspire for women. In bright pink, of course! They do also offer other colours if you aren’t as barbie inspired as me 😉

When you first look at these, they look rather odd and even a bit ‘scary’. You’d think they would be uncomfortable but they are far from it, they are actually the most comfortable I have ever tried. Designed for women they are made specifically for smaller ears so they fit very well. They have the Flexsoft™ technology so almost mould to the ear and using the TwistLock™ they feel completely secure as well. The sound is brilliant from them and they have the added bonus of being sweat resistant and waterproof.

I’m so glad I can now run whilst listening to music and focus on my run, I barely even feel I have them in so there’s no pain afterwards either! Yurbuds offer a solution for every athlete, not only women. check out their whole range the website.

Clearspring Organics!

Organic food is something I am slowly becoming conscious of, I have read a few contrasting stories but I think I am on team organic. Clearspring offers organic Japanese & European foods in the UK to help get organic back on the table. All their products are 100% vegetarian/vegan ingredients and have no artificial additives, MSG, colourings, preservatives or refined sugar. I was very kindly sent some goodies to try out; Coconut oil*Blueberry fruit spread* & 6 varied packs of Snack organic packs*

Coconut oil is amazing for literally everything. I’ve been using it for baking, cooking, spreading and even as a moisturiser! A little bit goes a long way and just knowing

it is completely pure and organic makes it even better!

The organic fruit spread is something I was looking forward too because I love my toast with jam but I never let myself have it because of the sugar. (I try to avoid refined and added sugar more so than fat because it is so much worse for you). This fruit spread doesn’t have that so although it is still quite high sugar, it is natural and 50% pure fruit. It tastes lovely, it has much more flavour than a jam and I feel so much better about eating it. I’m also much happier letting Sienna have it on toast instead of jam. I want to promote a healthy living as she is growing up as I think it is important.

The snack packs have been so handy, I like nuts and seeds but I never take them as a handbag snack because I always end up spilling them and to be honest, I’m too lazy to portion them all out into tupperware. These are already done and easy to grab on the go but are healthy and tasty. I took a pack with me to Pilates last Sunday and had them after my workout, they were so tasty and much better than what I would have normally had!

I’m impressed with these products and the quality, the pricing is also good considering the fact they are so natural, organic, vegan etc. They also offer a whole load more unique products on their website; I’m very intrigued by the sweet grains desserts!
