Friday Fitness #5!

This week has been ok, but I am still lacking in energy! I think that is down to it being nearly my time of the month, I always feel the same the week before, I have no energy, stomach cramps & just want to snuggle on the sofa eating ice cream! But despite that, I haven’t given in & still tried to be healthy and get some workouts in! It has been mainly cardio as I really have not been in the mood for strength or anything.

Saturday; HASFITs 15 min intervals.
Sunday; REST
Monday; Denise Austin Ultimate fat burn workout & 10 min slow jog.
Tuesday; REST
Wednesday; 5k run
Thursday; Long walk.
Friday; REST

Question: Do you ever have a whole week of just cardio?

One of those days!

Yesterday was just one of those days. I got up really tired and was just in one of those lazy moods. I just wanted to sit on the sofa, drink tea and watch TV all day. Obviously, with a 9 month old that never happens but I did stay in my PJs all day and just pottered around the house playing and snuggling Sienna.

I had a run ‘scheduled’ at 5:45pm with my Dad, he usually runs 10k so I was a bit nervous! I die at 5k but wanted to push myself. Well, that did not happen. I don’t think i drank and ate enough and I just did not have any energy at all, I think that is because it’s nearly that ‘time of the month’. I always lack energy the week leading up to it. I couldn’t get in the zone either and just wanted to stop every 2 mins. But i did complete my 5k even if it took me 35 minutes! Although my average pace was 6:27 which is similar to what I do when me & Warren run 5k. So even though I stopped to walk a lot more, when I was running, I was running faster because it averaged out. Do you get me?!

So even though it was harder than normal, I guess I still did ok. We are going again on Saturday to see if I can improve & hopefully I’ll fuel myself better. It also say I burnt 390 calories which I don’t believe?! I’ll have to check that my weight is correct on it.

This morning I’m just chilling and doing some housework and then Sienna & I are walking to the park later and meeting Warren’s mum, sister & her boyfriend for playtime & dinner while Warren is at football. That should be lovely, so nice to get out!

At the moment Sienna is napping & I’m having a nice cup of hazelnut coffee from Beanies & chocolate from ohso. Perfect 🙂

Question: Do you ever find you’re not in the mood to workout?

GIVEAWAY! & Vegan protein brownies recipe :)

When I was researching recipes to use my Good hemp strawberry in, I noticed that many people had said raw hemp was excellent for baking chocolatey treats. I stored this in my mind for one day in the (near) future. After all, I am a chocoholic and always looking at ways to make my chocolate goodies a bit healthier & increase the protein. Very kindly, The Raw Chocolate Company sent me some of their Raw hemp protein powder to include in a recipe. They also sent me a snack pack of their Organic raw chocolate mulberries to try out.

The mulberries are 74% cocoa and I looove dark chocolate, the darker the better. Mulberries are something I had never tried but they have many health benefits such as being a great source of Vitamin C, Iron and Antioxidants. These tasted sweet and tangy with a good layer of yummy chocolate, they make a great snack if you fancy something sweet!

With the hemp, I decided to bake chocolate brownies. I found a simple recipe but I made a few adjustments to suit my tastes and to what I had on hand. I was eager to find out what they tasted like with the hemp in. My first impressions of the hemp was that it had barely any smell, unlike others I have tried. I was excited as I thought this could really work! I quickly threw everything in the blended and had a taste of the batter… fudgey, gooey, chocolatey, hazelnut brownie batter. To. Die. For. In hindsight, they would have made brilliant truffles just like that!

The meagre 15 minutes I had to wait while they were baking felt like a lifetime but I made it through & the wait was worth it. The warm, fudgey goodness of a brownie was just what I needed on a rainy, Saturday night in. I am so impressed and surprised with how these taste, I couldn’t taste any hint of hemp in there, they feel completely indulgent but they are good for you! Ok, ok.. I’ll get on with it.. here’s the recipe!

Vegan protein brownies!

Makes 2-3 brownies.

-1/2 banana,

-1 tbsp cocoa,

Wait to a cool a little and enjoy.

The best 15 min workout & lightened up pesto recipe!

Today, I really wanted to get a workout in whilst Sienna napped & Woz was at footie but I had a few bits of house work to do first, which meant it needed to be quick. I remembered the HASFIT 15 min insanity workout we used to do and knew it would be perfect.

I’m not sure if I just put more into it than I used too or if it was my new Zaggora fat burning leggings I was sent, but wow did I sweat! I was dripping from my eyes, lips, everything! Gross I know, but it means it was effective. I will definitely be doing this a bit more! A WIN for short workouts & Zaggora leggings!

For my lunch today I wanted something different, we had some chicken & wraps left and pesto sprung to my mind. I had a look on some of my favourite blogs for a recipe and Courtney came up trumps with this Lightened Up Pesto recipe.

Although mine lunch as a whole wasn’t as good as their panini’s, the pesto was delicious! I have some left over for tomorrow 😉

Now I’m off to bake brownies and have a relaxing night!

Question: Have you found any good recipes today?

Fitness Friday #4!

This week I’ve been struggling for time & energy, so it has mainly been walking! This makes me so annoyed because I really want to do great workouts but I’m exhausted and even if I get started, 10 mins and I’m done! ARGH! I think it’s stress, so me and Sienna have a new schedule that will hopefully give me more time and less stress meaning better workouts! 🙂

Saturday; Family walk
Sunday; REST
Monday; Short easy walk.
Tuesday; Blogilates gentlemen workout & 30 min kickboxing workout.
Wednesday; REST
Thursday; 30 day shred level 2 & Tone It Up Sleek & slender abs
Friday; REST

The kickboxing is a workout I used to do a couple of times a week with Warren when I first started to lose my baby weight. I hadn’t done it for months and while I noticed my fitness has improved, I clearly haven’t been working those areas much as my muscles are SO sore. My trapezius & triceps… ouch!! It’s good pain though 🙂 I’m going to be adding this back in to my workouts, I kind of forgot about it but it’s so fun and a great workout!
